Trail Story: Beitou and “Ki-pataw”
Local legend says that long ago, the Plains Indigenous people discovered warm creek water here—mist rising, steam swirling. They believed it was a place where a witch cast spells, calling it “Ki-pataw” (witch). Over time, the name evolved into what we now know as Beitou. This route blends dramatic geology with cultural history. Along the way you’ll pass iconic landmarks such as Zhaoming Temple, Golden Theater, Zhonghe Zen Temple, Kobo Daishi Rock, Danfeng Stone, and Battleship Rock. It's not just a scenic trail each stop holds stories of faith, folklore, and place.

- Leisure Group: 6km
- Experience Group: 13km
Note: This is a free public activity. Please arrange your own insurance and run within your limits safety first.
Route Overview
ROUTE
Hilltop Track → Battleship Rock Trail → Zhaoming Temple → Danfeng Mountain Trail → Battleship Rock → Hilltop Track
